Posted Date: 08/19/26 (07:48 AM)

Ord Terrace Families,

Recent changes to state law have required MPUSD to update its parent/guardian/volunteer visitor and volunteering policies. Below is information for all visitors to MPUSD schools (including Ord Terrace), as well as for anyone who wants to volunteer. There will be a volunteer orientation on
Wednesday, August 26th 8:00-10:00 a.m. in room 6, which will include an opportunity for volunteers to take the online Mandated Reporter Training.

One time visitors
Use the kiosk in the office to scan your ID, take a photo, and get cleared immediately by the computer system (plus wear a visitor sticker the kiosk generates). This is MANDATORY for anybody visiting the school.

Volunteers who will ALWAYS be in sight of a staff member (this doesn't apply to field trip chaperones!)
Repeat visitors who will always be under the supervision of a staff member will be required to complete the volunteer application (English | Spanish) (also in the office), provide ID (from any country) for verification, AND provide evidence of a recent clear TB (tuberculosis) test or TB Risk Assessment form. Nurse Kim can do the TB Risk Assessment if she is on campus. TB results or Risk Assessment must be within the last 6 months.

Volunteers for field trips and who will potentially be out of sight of a staff member
Repeat visitors who will NOT be under the constant supervision of a staff member, will be required to complete the volunteer application (English | Spanish) (also in the office), provide ID (from any country) for verification, AND provide evidence of a recent clear TB (tuberculosis) test or TB Risk Assessment form, AND submit completion of Mandated Reporter Training (SB 848) (complete online for free by creating an account here, complete the course, and save the completion certificate to show the office).
